| Activity | I specialise in expressing complex policy procedural or legislative materials in a readable usable style. If you have a complex message to give to a wide audience or a new procedure to convey to a workforce then I believe my services may be of use. Although I mostly work in written media I have experience of audio-visual presenting and some radio/voice work. For Example: I am currently converting a 170 page financial procedures manual into a 15 page staff booklet for a Scottish Health Board. For Example: I am currently writing a plain language textbook for managers and staff working through new Government standards for the induction of new staff working with children. It has to be chatty and engaging clear and usable. I obtained a BSc Honours in Applied Sociology in 1992 at Newlands Park College now part of Brunel University. This encompasses the practical applied side of social research as well as the theoretical. This has proved useful in a career that has included the development and commissioning of social housing and support projects direct work with disadvantaged individuals facing a range of challenges and latterly the formulation of policy procedures and the interpretation of new legislation in the workplace. I am the author of several legal and procedural commentaries as well as NVQ and SVQ texts. I am a trained trainer and an associate with the training resources provider Kirwin-Maclean Associates.
