Renewable Energy Company Profile - Edward MacKay Energy Ltd

Developing as a unique 'one stop shop' for the renewable energy sector is Edward Mackay Energy Ltd, a new company formed in March 2006 but calling upon a considerable record of activity and expertise in wind power projects.

Being incorporated under Inverness-based Tulloch Ltd's civil engineering division, the team which handled windfarm business under the aegis of the former Edward Mackay Ltd 1958, now has the resources to move to the next level, having 10 years of wind farm experience starting at Novar Hill and ranging from Orkney to the Borders.

Tulloch have UK-wide major civil engineering and construction capability and have worked on a host of major public utilities contracts in some of the most remote and toughest terrains. Tulloch won a European-wide tendering for a seven year contract to handle the property construction portfolio for the Highlands and Islands Enterprise network.

The enhanced company, which has 50 employees, offers a wide range of services -- including project management, installation, electronics, transport, plant hire, civil engineering, construction, turbine foundations, site roads. The integrated 'one stop' nature of these are being shaped to offer major efficiency gains to developers.
Specialist equipment enables the company to transport abnormal loads from ports to wind farm locations.

Edward Mackay Energy Ltd, which operates from modern largescale facilities in Brora and Inverness, represents a major new opportunity for the wind power sector. It is also researching involvement in the wider renewables industry, including solar and biomass.
